PAINTBALL - That's my knee!
Have a look this. That's my knee at the bottom!!! Well, it looks like my knees after most tourneys. The Dye kneepads worked well in Sydney...:)
LIFE - I give up...
Well. It's 2100 and I'm still at work. (sarcasm)I love my job(/sarcasm) (They need to make that a real HTML tag).
Our users are sending/receiving about 1 GB of mail each day (This is a company with about 450 e-mail users!!!). Archiving and mailbox restrictions are in place for 80% of the people. The remaining 20% are our power users, and the ones it's taking time to implement the archiving and mailbox rules (Without impacting their work). So one of the mail server hits its database size limit (It needed a degrag so we didn't know quite how big it truley was).
So it's running again. Tomorrow will be fun. "We need to you manage you e-mail data" (A matter of clicking and dragging what they want to keep to their archive if the auto-archiving doesn't get it, or deleting all the "You lights are on in the car park", or joke e-mails). "I don't have time to manage my e-mail". Yeah. Well I don't have time to work late to clean up after you...>:-|

PAINTBALL, LIFE - Aren't they the same thing?
Wow...Div 2 and 3 of the Denver leg of the NPPL sold out in less than 24 hours. Holy crap!
Had a couple of funny dreams recently. The other night I was applying for an IT Engineer role with Blue Star (WTF?), and was being interviewed by Darren Orr, who was the engineer I would be replacing. Again, WTF? He's a jeweller in RL. LOL.
Then last night, Hybrid was playing in the NPPL at Huntington Beach. We were going on the field on for our first game, but I hadn't loaded my pack! I then woke up and sat bolt upright, breathing heavily. I got back to sleep, and the dream carried on. Jono Clark was playing with us, which was cool. We won six out of our eight prelim games, but it wasn't enough to play on Sunday, as heaps of teams had won seven or eight games.
My boss resigned today (No, that's not a dream). I will have been through four different IT Managers in two and a half years. Don't think I want the job. It's even crappier than mine.
Plus...Following on the heels of Banana Phone, it's "Schnappi das kleine Krokodil". I saw the video on TV once. Then I get a text from Rik Goldsworthy the other week asking if I'd heard it. "It's such a happy song. Can you find me a copy on the Net?". I can't get it off my brain. But I inflicted it on Megz too, so dat's funny.

LIFE - Weekend's over
Saw Revenge of the Sith on Saturday. Meh. Could take it or leave it. Not much else going on. Weather's crap. Cleaned the house a bit. My study is still a tip. And I've not been wearing my Ollie jersey all weekend (Cause I didn't sleep in it). And started filling in the content on our web portal. Oh well. Back to the salt mines. Hmmm....Coffee.

LIFE, INTERWEB - Nnngggghhh!!!
Man. People just don't seem to get it. "A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine". Everyone has come to me today "We need this right now", "We need this tomorrow", "We need you to work over the weekend because of XYZ". When I ask why the rush I get "Cause this just got dumped on us", to which my response is: no, you're just a bunch of slackers who ignored the problem or left it until the last minute.
At least there is a new Strong Bad e-mail, and Foamy. But my laptop drive still hasn't been replaced and my temp machine has no sound...:-( I think I can wait till I get home.

Rock on. My Ollie Lang jersey arrived today. Props to Oliver for sorting this out, despite difficulties with the overseas order.
LIFE - Everything I touch, fries...
The rate of hardware failures I'm experiencing at the moment is rather annyoing. Margaret's PC seems to have a problem in that it won't start up intermittantly. The hard drive in my work laptop failed, and was replaced. A machine at work earmarked for an important task died just as it was being installed. Its replacement suffered a hard drive failure. Then the replacement drive for my laptop mentioned above died (In a different way from the previous one). And last night, the power to the CPU fan in my home machine became non-operative and (Thankfully) it switched off due to thermal shutdown. Fortunately I was able to switch to another CPU fan connector. I hate technology. At least my Angel is working. It's for sale BTW.

PAINTBALL - WE WON!
Hybrid wins AXL 2004 Round 2 at Fox Studios in Sydney!
First think I'll do is thank the boys and girls of Hybrid. We really rocked! We played well, and I fully believe we deserved the win. And with that, we take the lead in the AXL series.
About the event itself...What can I say? The venue was absolutely awesome. The access to the general public was great, and I believe the event was a very positive one for paintball in NSW and Australia.
I'm sure pics and stories will start flooding in soon. Life may be returning to normal, but the glow of winning this one will linger for some time.

LIFE - Everyone's a comedian
I was walking to work from the bus stop this morning and ran in to the guys from Gamarjobat who some of you may have seen either in person (You lucky sod) or on telly in the ODDFELLOWS Comedy Gala. Now they're Japanese. I dunno if they speak English. So I introducted myself in Japanese and said I enjoyed the show the other day on the telly. The guys were floored that they're walking down the streen in New Zealand and some blonde haired gai-jin just walks up and starts blathering to them in Japanese. LOL.
Oh. And Megz pointed out this morning - Happy 05/05/05. Shame I was alseep at 05/05/05 05:05:05...:-(

Off to Oz on Friday. Have to get up at Like 0300...Bleah
How ironic is this. Went to see the new Hitchhikers Guild to the Galaxy movie on Sunday. It was okay. Now Megz and I both entered some compentition a while back to win tickets. Well we both won double passes with both of our entries and this is after we saw it. Even better, the competition is for tickets at Reading Cinemas, who don't even have a theatre in Auckland. *sigh*.
Oh. And new Strongbad e-mail.
