Wow! Unless you've been living under a rock (Or perhaps on a rock out somewhere), you're going to have seen some coverage of NASA's Deep Impact mission and its goal of slamming a projectile in to comet Temple 1 to see what happens. Great coverage could be found here at NASA and here at Space.com. Maximum respect to the scientists and engineers who pulled this off. A planned collision in space has never been done before, and they nailed it perfectly.
So that's yet another success for NASA following Spirit and Opportunity on Mars and the Cassini-Huygens missions at Saturn. Wow...
